winner

This is a worthy winner and stands out amongst the many high quality entries to this competition. The colour blue is inherent to the power of this image, reflecting in the droplets clinging to the fibres of the feather. It's one of those images that is full of detail and intrigue, pulling in the viewer and demanding that we look a little closer. The lighting is well managed, catching the colour and highlighting the droplets. A really powerful exploration of the intricacies encapsulated within a humble feather that uses the colour blue in an innovative and interesting way. Masterfully composed, shot and processed, thank you for sharing and congratulations.

The power of wave photography is an enduring topic and subject matter when it comes to this discipline but rarely is it done well enough to rise above the rest. This is a lovely example of wave photography that also benefits from powerful composition and interesting lighting. The terms of the colour blue, it is represented in the water itself through the deep colours of the ocean and also above in the pale blues in the sky. The composition works really well, with the curve of the wave moving from right to left where the wave is cresting in a delightful manner. This is repeated through the waves in the background. A pleasing and well composed wave image that uses the colour blue to powerful effect. Thank you for sharing!

I wanted to leave a review for this image because through the three 'Colour Blue' contests there were dozens of pictures depicting jelly fish but none were as impressive as your rendition. I can only assume this was taken in an aquarium but there is no indication of this in the frame which makes the image more believable and interesting. The bokeh that surrounds the jellyfish creates a nice atmosphere and the light coming in from the top left works well. The image is sharp and embodies the contest brief with the colour blue dominating the frame. Just a lovely example that demonstrates your skill as a photographer. Well done on making the top ten!

I absolutely love this image and to me it is a masterclass in composition and storytelling. It is a shame that you haven't provided any backdrop to the image in the description because I'd love to know some more behind your thought process. That aside, it is undeniable that this image embodies the topic of this contest as the colour blue is in pretty much every pixel. The cool blue colours of the ice cave create a magical and powerful frame that leads the eye directly to the camper van that is parked up outside. I love that the cool colours of the ice cave are replicated in the colours of the camper, it is satisfying to the eye and ties the whole image together. Just one of those moments that you've made the most of and this demonstrates you have a thorough understanding of how to create power compositions and intriguing narratives through a single frame. Congrats on making the top 3 and thank you for sharing.
