The colour red in nature

Red in nature, the warning colour, the poisonous berry, the fly agaric toadstool, the red hot chilli. And the colour of ripeness, of ready-to-eat cherries and rosy apples and fat strawberries, of leaves ready to fall. And red as a way of standing out, being attractive, the red rose, the macaw parrot, and a field of poppies. There’s nothing that makes an image sing like a splash of red.
