Out of all the moon sequences that have been submitted in this contest, this image immediately caught my attention. I like the fact that the moon is incorporated in a landscape. It adds interest and context to the images and shows the moon in its true proportion. The moon is the true star of this shot - a fantastic moon portrait. Well done!

**This contest is open to photographers ranked between 251 and 1000 in this week’s <a href="https://www.photocrowd.com/photographer-community/">Leaderboard</a>.** Astrophotography is a thrilling genre of photography. The moon, with its size and proximity to the Earth offers a unique opportunity to shoot a planetary mass in some detail without needing the most specialist of equipment. On cloudless nights the moon is a presence that can bring a source of night light, and provide an evocative addition to nighttime scenes. For the avoidance of doubt, the moon must be visible in each submitted image, although it if is entirely incidental to the scene then it is unlikely to be awarded.
Beautiful capture of the moon, with enough landscape and context to make it stand out as a unique shot. Including the boats in the frame is cleverly thought - their presence enables us to fully appreciate the size of the moon, something we wouldn't have been able to do without them. This is a beautiful moon portrait that exudes calm and serenity. Well done!
