Thank you for entering my contest, I do love a cloud inversion! I really liked the composition of this with the 3 horizontal segments between the land, clouds and sky and just the hint of a ridge leading the eye up to the chateau. It's a nice tone with the golden hue complementing the autumn leaves in the foreground and I like that you can see the flare around the sun as it's broken the horizon. Well done on a top 5 finish!

Thank you for entering my contest. This photo is superb, it's so simple and yet little details, like the subtle sun burst and capturing the transparency of the ice shard in the bottom left, make it stand out. There's really nice gradient of colour to the sky and I love that you've not over saturated this and let the natural colours and transitions shine through. Well done on a top 5 finish!

Thank you for entering my contest. I love the light in this photograph, particularly where you've caught it on the gate. it's also a lovely composition with the fence creating a strong leading line from the edge right across to the sun burst. I would be tempted to moderate the exposure of the sun just a little bit more so it doesn't detract from the lighting in the foreground, but overall a great image. Well done on 2nd place!

Thank you for taking the time to enter my contest . In a competition where most of the entries were sweeping landscapes this was a welcome change in view with a lovely placed sun burst. You've really nicely captured that feeling of the light when the sun is low in the sky, with the hazy, muted sheen on Castle Rock. The castle itself, usually centre stage, takes a respectful backseat to the fountain and it's colours just jump out of the photo. It's a personal preference, but I might have moved the camera ever so slightly to the right to remove the little branch interloper on the top left and ensure the right side of the fountain base wasn't cut out, but that's just being picky :-). Well done on 3rd place!

This contest is for your colour photos of the sun taken to show visible rays of light emanating from it in a star-burst effect. Images can show the star-burst/sun star effect captured in-camera by shooting with a small aperture, or added to the photo in post-processing using image editing software. No composites please, and only photos in colour. I look forward to seeing your images.
