The US Route 66 - "The Mother Road"

Wonderful photo! It completely captures the aura of the "Mother Road" - Route 66! On my many trips as a child from California to Texas along Route 66, Holbrook was always one of our meal stops. As a child, the Wigwam rooms were so unique and fascinating and I always looked forward to seeing that big Wigwam Motel Sign. Great job and thanks for the memories!

Along the tracks, sitting on my pack and playing my guitar, while the world goes by along the Mother Road behind me. This is a very powerful photograph. Technically, it's perfect. This gentlemen looks like someone I could have picked up and given a ride to, during my many trips along Route 66. Well done!

There were a number of End of the Trail photos entered, but this one was my favorite. The composition is terrific! I love the way the Pier Burger sign intersects with the Route 66 sign. The golden hour lighting really makes this photograph pop. Excellent work!

Great POV, composition and wonderful editing! This photograph presents so much without being cluttered. I can picture cars long ago pulling into this gas station on their gravel driveway, to fill up their tanks, grab a cold drink and continue their journey.! I love the lit signs at the tops of the two gas pumps. Very well done!

Wonderful composition and editing! There's a sadness in seeing the deterioration of Route 66 since I-40 was completed. It's possible sometime long ago, I may have stopped at this gas station. You have captured both the history and demise of the Mother Road with this amazing photograph. Extraordinary work!
