Who can't relate to this image? Whether you have children or not, we have all been a child and have been in these children's shoes! This image delivers a sense of newness, fun and exploration. The composition is brilliant, the two elder children closely followed by the youngest is so strong. In today's society we all worry about children losing their youth so fast in the age of technology, however this brings home what the fundamentals of childhood and youth should be like. Well done!

The later side of being a youth has been delivered here, first and early jobs making ends meet just to bring the money in! How the world has changed, with the ability to have food delivered from your favourite restaurant to your door by these young adults. You have captured an image here that has captivated me, a sense of purpose through work yet engrossment of technology by today's youth. A nice composition with the two subjects mirroring each others behaviours. Well done! One word of advice, please add an image title and more descriptive detail, you are a great photographer!

Congratulations on 3rd place, I am a sucker for a strong monochrome image with an even better sense of story! Where is this subject? Why is he there? What is he waiting for? It had me asking more and more! Fantastic composition and story telling. I like we can't see his face, he is obviously a youth by the dress and cap, but it leaves us asking more from the image. It leaves me with a sense of isolation, challenges of youth's today - yet in an environment of history and architecture. So many unanswered questions! Brilliant!

There is an element of innocence and comradery about this image that made it stand out - I really like this. It looks as if a 'Disney' type princess is meeting a group of friends, who is nicely out of focus putting the group of friends right in the centre of the story. This image shows true friendship and strength/ confidence in numbers with these girls. Well composed and even better story telling delivering a really strong image, well done!

Well done in making into my top 10. This image is all about the right hand side of the image, yet the fountain adds the sense of environment, I just wished the 2 left characters were out of shot!. Why did I rank it so highly? Its the lady's expression on the right that made it for me, a sense of disgust ignoring the kissing youths. A great scene and story telling delivering an image right on brief, with the youths not giving one care about their surroundings. One word of advice, please add an image title and more descriptive detail, you are a great photographer!

Congratulations on the top 10 place. This image was stacked against a large number of urban youth environment skate/bmx/sport based images. This image stood out and was placed in my top 10 as its handling of textures and grungy colours is fantastic. The subject is placed well, with the pose and expressions being non direct to camera - leaving me wanting to know more about the subject and his feelings. I like this image, well done!

I have left a review of this image as this so very nearly made my top 10, lets call it a highly commended! This image was up against some strong competition 'youth's in an urban environment'. I like the subject, his pose, composition and handling of colour tones. It lacked a bit of purpose and wider environmental detail, as the pillar took up over 50% of the image. A good image, it missed out as the exact brief was met to a higher degree by the top 10 images. One word of advice, please add an image title and more descriptive detail, you are a great photographer!

My choice for competition cover image, a striking monochrome urban silhouette. I have left a review of this image as this so very nearly made my top 10, lets call it a highly commended! Many images I see of this location are in colour, and often become messy and confused with all of the graffiti colour distractions (including my own!). I mostly love the urban gang feel about this image, a sense of group/ belonging and interest. A great image, well done!

A cheeky and naughty image! I love it! Well spotted, a real sense of school trip and friendship mixed in with a lot of misbehaviour! I have left a review of this image as this so very nearly made my top 10, lets call it a highly commended!

A big fingers up! Such a powerful image, simple yet effective delivering the thoughts and feelings of young adults as they develop their views and feelings on the world around them. The composition is simple, the tones and focus really deliver a compelling image. A real eye catcher, this one is certainly all about the feelings and story telling. Well done!

First of all, congratulations on 2nd place. A fantastic image, delivering a strong story. The quality is on point, with the image highlights focusing you directly onto the subjects face and reading material - monochrome was certainly the best decision here. The image leaves me filling in the gaps in the story, creating intrigue, is he on his way into London for the first time? Is he reading up on what he might explore in the great city? etc...fantastic, well done!

The next generation of young adults have changed very much and very quickly since I was their age. This contest is open to interpretation, allowing you to portray the 'youth of today', be it being absorbed into their digital worlds, being mischievous, showing off their new found skills etc. Please do not enter portraits of young adults - I am looking for a depiction of the youth of today in their environments. Is this the strongest image? To be honest 'no'. Technically it isn't great, focus is on the plants and not on the subjects. But it works! I have children in and around this age and can relate to your image extremely well. What you have delivered here is a sense of exploration, safety in numbers, innocence and fun, which is a nice take on this competition brief! We all start our lives being these little adults, the world at our feet ready to be explored. Well done on your top 10 position, a well deserved place!
