Beautiful light, nice colour grading, good composition, sharp details, balance, and life. This image has it all. Some travel icons don't need a lot of work to take a good photo, which means you need to go above and beyond to take a stand out photo. You've shown a excellence of both in camera and post production skills with this image.

A wonderfully calm image with subtle pairings of features. The warm light on the rocks and grass contrasts well with the cool ocean colour. The detail in the grass matches with those in the surf. The darker line in the clouds almost reflects the contour of the beach. A beautiful photo that draws the viewer in to a magical peaceful moment.

A less common view of a popular travel icon that is still easily recognisable. Precision is key to this image. Everything is perfectly placed, from the centre pod lining up the middle of the Eye, to the spacing of the outer pods and structure to the edge of the frame. Even the slight contrast of the red paint with the tint of the windows on the pods draws in the eye. Great work!

**This contest is open to photographers ranked 1000+ in this week’s Leaderboard.** These are the stops on a world tour that have to be made, to see architecture, natural formations, and gatherings of people that are iconic, unmissable, recognisable to so many, and that you have to have on your Instagram if you want to describe yourself on there as a lover of travel. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea to visit these most popular of destinations, but plenty do, and we’re inviting your images of them here.

A great image to explore and a great representation of this Italian city. There's just the right amount of light to create depth without the highlights or shadows being lost. Not to take away from the quality of the image, but I find myself mentally cropping out the sky to give an impression of the buildings continuing on in all directions. However that is just a personal preference and it's still a highly commended photo!
