The softness of this image is really appealing. Personally, I would have probably increased the whites and darkened the blacks to create more contrast. However, the subtleness of this image is what caught my attention, so my suggestion may result in something less appealing. I love the sense of depth in the image as the middle tree trunk gives us the darkest focal point and then the layers behind gradually fade. The Pintail bird is an excellent addition and helps balance the visual weight and interest in the image. Lovely, well done!

"I was drawn to this image due to the significant amount of snow in what appears to be a semi-urban area with a building in the background. The two snow-laden trees and simple black verticals that recede through the frame create a profound sense of depth in the scene. Although it is a straightforward image, it is one of the most challenging ones for photographers, and this one checks many boxes for technical execution and creative composition. You did an excellent job!"

Congratulations on achieving first place for your splendid image of a majestic tree set against a snowy winter scene, yet still showcasing the remnants of autumn foliage. The tree is the star of the show, standing out with its beautiful shape and spread against a less impressive background. It stands proudly and prominently, much like a peacock displaying its plumage. The image is remarkably well-captured and executed, both in-camera and in post-production. Well done!
