Congratulations on winning first place with this incredible image. There's a lot going on to keep viewers lingering for a while, but I personally love the intense stare of the short-eared owl, the beatiful light through the tips of the wing, and the amazing shapes of both birds. Top-drawer stuff!

The scene feels natural, not posed, and the juxtaposition of the boy playing with snow and the man standing in a contemplative pose tell an interesting story.
