I deliberated quite a while over this image, as I wasn't sure whether the image fell between being a creatively arranged still-life and a minimalist shot, but in the end I decided it deserved to be placed and enjoy the image for what it is. The colours are eyecatching, and you have done well to make sure the red tomatoes stand out against the red backdrop. Everything looks especially fresh and tempting. On a personal note, I would loose the digital signature, as it does tend to spoil what is otherwise a clean composition, so sticks out as a bit of a flaw. That aside, a great shot, well done on your top ten placing.
The contrasting colours between the vivid red and green really make this image stand out. In many places, this type of tomatoes are only seen in tins, so it is great to see them growing on the plant. Good composition and framing, nice and close to the subject, but not too close so as to lose the background context. Great image, well done on your top ten placing.
A very attractive still-life, in which tomatoes certainly are the star of the show. I love the classic feel to the image, created in part by the composition, the set-up and the lighting, which has been very well controlled. There are no random objects included, and everything goes together in a way that looks natural. A rather delightful collection of different tomatoes too! Congratulations on your winning image.
I love the set-up of this still life composition. I am sure it is staged, but everything looks as you may naturally find the produce and equipment in a productive kitchen, complete with the used pan in the background with remnants of tomato sauces around the sides. Lighting is nice and bright, bringing a lovely feel of freshness to the shot, which compliments the subject. From a personal view I would loose the digital frame as I am not sure it adds anything, but that is just my opinion. Great image, well done on your top ten placing.

This image was a late entry to my top ten, but one I kept coming back to. The rather vast display of tomatoes in the foreground ensures they are the prime subject of the photo. The scene is otherwise quite busy, but I like that, as the eye is drawn beyond the stall to the little scenes playing out elsewhere on the market. The people bring some life to the shot, but none of the individuals are over-dominant. Great image, well done on your top ten placing.

I really like the rather abstract feel to this image. The subject is obvious, but by filling the frame with the tomotoes, we get to focus fully on the various shapes and forms with no distractions. I also like the variety in colours between the varying degrees of ripeness, which adds interest to the shot. There is great clarity to the image, and it really feels like we could reach in and touch! Well done on your top ten placing.
An interesting still-life composition, presented as a flat lay to give a different perspective to the scene. The accompanying background elements work well, with varying patterns and textures in the worn white wood and the hessian-type mat. Also working well for this type of composition is the contrast in shapes between the squares and the circular plate and round tomatoes. Simple, uncluttered and very attractive, well done on youf top ten placing.
I love this type of image, where the subject fills the frame, as it invites the viewer to explore the subject in more detail, rather than simply survey a scene. Red is often a colour that is difficult to accurately represent in an image, but you have done well here as everything looks natural as the eye would see it. Lighting is great, as it has picked out highlights on the tomatoes to make them look fresh and tasty. Well done on your top ten placing.
A delightful study of a single tomato, captured with lovely lighting that accentuates the freshness and appeal of the tomato. Good control over the depth of field, as all the tomato is in clear focus, with the contrasting greenery in the background fallen nicely out of focus to ensure the tomato is the star. Great set-up, with the tomato partially sliced, which gives the impression it is ready to eat and enjoy. The water drops bring extra sparkle and freshness to the shot. Congratulations on your second place finish.

In this contest I would like to see your photos of raw, uncooked tomatoes. The tomatoes can be whole or sliced etc, but must be uncooked. Images can show the tomatoes alone, with other items in a still-life composition, still growing, being sold or prepared in a cold dish such as a salad. The tomatoes should be the focal point of your image. Photos can be in colour or black and white. I look forward to seeing your entries.
A simple but effective composition, close-in to these delicious-looking ridged tomatoes. Lighting is well balanced with good highlights and shadows revealing the shape and form of the subject. Colouring is good too, in having a mixture of coloured tomatoes, and also the colours have been kept looking natural. Congratulations on your third place finish.
