Vintage Cameras

Everything about this image is exactly what I was looking for in this competition. I can feel the nostalgia with all the elements and the wooden figure is a wonderful bonus, especially how you have posed it. You even have the original film holder that slots into the back of the camera...amazing. The vintage boxes, material, old keys, prints and of course the camera itself are positioned well to make a nice composition. It's great that you have also allowed light on the backdrop to create some separation from the items. Finally, all the tonal elements work well together and the lighting and exposure spot on. Well done for creating a beautiful image well deserving of the win :)

I love the humorous angle the artist has portrayed in this image. Old technology combined with modern social behavior. The composition, pose and expression of the model works well. The only suggestion I have is that a bit of extra light could have been used on the background to separate the model from the black and give the image a bit more depth, but that's just me being picky. Great image. Love it :)

Beautiful, well setup image which fulfilled all the requirements of the competition brief. Looking at this gives me feelings of nostalgia and I keep thinking of how life was during these time periods. The lighting is spot on and all the items well arranged. My only suggestion is that a little less 'soft focus' effect be used around the edges and throughout the image. Try masking the effect and then brushing it back in on smaller areas of the image such as just on the highlights. Lovely image which I really enjoyed looking at. :)

I enjoyed seeing this image! The style stood out from most images as it has a strong retro feel to it. I like the angle of the camera the colors used and the contrast of the red (seed pods?) against the blue. Well done :)

The cosplayer in me loves this image. So much fun getting out on location to create time period images, the costuming, props and even makeup add to the entire experience. The only suggestion I have is to edit the tent out from the models right shoulder. My eye keeps wondering off to this part of the image and my OCD kicks in. I like the model's pose on the jeep, holding the camera and the flag in the background. All positioned well to make a great image. So cool :)

Such a STRONG image. The composition, lighting, the camera angle and background all create a powerful commercial shot. I would use this in a marketing campaign; even the title of the image I can see splashed across the image on a massive billboard. The only reason why this didn't get first place is that it doesn't make me feel nostalgic due to it's strong commercial feel.. Beautiful image otherwise. Well done! :)

This image really stood out to me and it was very difficult in choosing the winner. The tonal range and composition is just beautiful. I can see this on a postcard from the past as it almost looks hand colored. I would definitely hang this on my wall. Simply stunning :)
