Stunning photograph I would be proud to have taken this one. Under the conditions that this crew are facing clearly the conditions are not ideal for pictures so great capture of the inshore D Class launching. I don't think that I could suggest how to improve what you have in this shot as you have the conditions and the volunteer crew so well caught in the image.

Shots like these are stunning and always difficult especially being on a moving platform

Clearly the picture is special to you but you have caught a shot that fits the brief so well. This volunteer loves the role and this picture conveys the message. Its not about thirds or leading lines or any other rule you have caught the action and passion. Fantastic picture.

Stunnig picture that I am sure will do well with the Crowd vote. I would love to be able to top ten this just a little uneasy that the individual Firefighter is a volunteer but superb picture capturing the drama.

The depth of field in this picture captures the expression of this volunteer lifeboat crew member so well with the light available. When the pager has gone off its not about the hair or looking good its about being there to help others and this is a great photograph.

The simplicity of this composure is great. Many families watch as Lifeboats launch when on holiday so nothing new but the angle you have this picture with the slipway leading to the Lifeboat then drawing your eye to the young spectators really makes this a great picture

'Volunteers in action' can mean so much. It's not just the heroic actions of trained volunteers battling great seas, or a Mountain Rescue Team arriving on time. Maybe it's also someone collecting with a bucket on a flag day; people helping at an incident; or the old lady selling jam for the village church roof. Sometimes the capture of the picture may not be technically great as conditions may not allow, but try your best to capture the heroism of a volunteer.
