This is a compelling image, you can see the tension in the arms and legs ready for that first pull at the start of the race. The triangle that the body, paddle and arms make, draws your eye right into the image. Well composed, if it had been a wider shot it would not have had the same impact. Thankyou for entering.
This image has a lot of energy in it, I can almost feel the pull of the water. It is well captured just on the roll. The composition is good, if you cropped it you chose well to just have the two paddlers as the main subject, any more space around them would have detracted from the sheer effort that these two guys where putting in. Well done.
Lovely autumnal colours and muted reflections. The dinghy is well captured with the sunlight on the sails. I feel that the clump of trees and horizontal line on the left hand side of the image draws the eye away from the main subject, if that had been cropped out the dinghy would have been within the rule of thirds and I would have put this image in my top ten.
This is a great image and to me it tells a story, I can just imagine the fisherman out on the loch on a cold misty morning (with maybe a "wee" dram of whisky tucked away somewhere.) The composition is pleasing with the subject on the rule of thirds, the focus is spot on and depth of field is good. The mist lends an eerie feel to the whole picture, very well done.
