Water Towers

This is such a powerful shot. The black and white help give the feeling of gravitas to the scene. The prison name on the tour tie the whole shot together. The framing and position for the shot is perfect. The water sustains life, the prison walls detain life and the cemetery contains what is left after life is taken away.

Really great light control, the pretty pink illuminated down the legs. Great clarity and focus for this night shot. It looks like a delicate piece of artwork, not just a water tower. Good choice of where to cut the picture, you give just enough of the legs to give the feeling of height while focusing on the tank.

Wonderful use of the light from the lightning to illuminate the water tower. The road being dark as it comes out of the foreground concentrates the eye on the water tower, the leading line is very effectively used here. Even with the lightning in the background the water tower is central figure in the shot. This is a dynamic, living shot even with the static focal point.

Fun, fun, fun! Your framing is perfect! The tractor in the shot gives size and interest to the water tower. It would have been a much less interesting shot had you not included that. The sky and field give depth and interest to the shot. You did a really good job with the lighting of the shot, the words on the tower are nice and clear.

Wonderful treatment to this shot! The color and lighting really gives a feeling that you're looking at a spaceship on another planet. The layered hills behind give depth and size to the photo. The water tower is nicely the focal point and your use of the concept of thirds in the photo is well applied.

Really fun, old tyme shot. Nothing in the shot is out of place or distracting from the feeling of age. Really super framing and your positioning when taking the shot. It feels like you're standing in the desert hoping theirs water in the tank cause its so dry. The mountains in the background add to the feeling of being lost in the desert, a long way from anywhere.

Using the long exposure gives this stationary object life and movement. It feels like a flying saucer instead of a water tank. Your black and white is clear and crisp the details are nice and sharp. Your choice of where to focus is well conceived, giving the feeling of height while bringing the tank into sharp focus.

The selective color on this shot is really effective in this shot. The copper color stands out against the black and white nicely. The interesting treatment along the edges of the photo give the feeling of an old film photograph. Seeing the fire escape running up the building gives depth and keeps the photo from getting to flat
