This image just lept out at me. It is strikingly beautiful and technically spot on! I really enjoyed the color pallet and tonal range of soft blues and greens to the dark clouds on the right. The photographer here has obviously spent a lot of time planning this image and scouting the best vantage point to see the cave, waterfall and mountain peak in the this composition. The foreground rocks complete the frame perfectly. If it were my image I may have desaturated very slightly to drop the sharpness of the blue in the sky on the left and the green in on the lower cliff. A great shot.

I was drawn to the simplicity of composition with this image, it feels slightly unbalanced but that is part of its strength as a photograph. The pale colors and tonal range are beautiful. I also felt that it would have been very easy to use a longer exposure to exaggerate the flow of water, this would have been a mistake as this exposure and level of motion blur in this image is absolutely perfect, we can see the flow of water but also details in the streams. I particularly like the light falling on the leaves, which picks out the detail in the foliage that juxtaposes the blue beautifully. Top image.
This is such a strong image. I loved the flow of the water from rear frame right to foreground left. The flow of the stream creates a natural leading line for your eye to follow through the composition. The sharpness of the rocks with the motion blur of the flowing water is also great. The tonal range of greens throughout the picture is beautiful as well, creating a lusciousness to the vegetation and moss covering the rocks, There is a combination of soft and hart throughout this composition that is balanced perfectly. You can almost hear the flow of the water racing down the woodland river. Great image.
I loved this image. It was great seeing a different spin on the brief by shooting the waterfall at night, including a person, and of course the light sparks. The long exposure creates a great umbrella of light that paints a beautiful color tone on the rocks and water in the foreground. The fact that the sparks are created with burning wire wool being swung around your heads is so innovative ( and dangerous) The illumination of the rocks and trees behind along with the few stars in the sky is also a great addition to the overall success of this photograph. A really exciting and different image.
I loved the simplicity of this image. It was a very different take on the brief and executed beautifully. So simple, yet bold and strong. Shot in monochrome really enhances the beauty of the photograph. The textures created by the flowing water are simply stunning. I really loved the tonal range of the black in the top left-hand cornet top the almost pure white in the bottom left. This brief naturally lends itself to wide-open landscape shots, but the photographer here has decided to go for a close detail which is very refreshing to see. Technically its bang on, creatively its sublime. All in in all a really great image.

***This contest is open to subscribers (members on the Challenger, Pro and Master subscription tiers). However if you're not a paying subscriber you can still purchase entries for £2 (GBP) per image.*** Waterfalls are one of nature’s wonders. But while they’re stunning to see with the eye, it can be harder to capture that same beauty through a lens. Depending on what effect you want to achieve, your approach and choice of equipment will be different. Remember to consider how the waterfall subject works into your composition as a whole. Good luck.
