Waves

You've managed an elegant composition with this image. The colour scheme creates a compelling mood for the shot, especially with the surfers' silhouettes contrasting with the bright patch in the sand. However it is a pity that there are obvious blurred patches to the top and bottom of the image.

This image was a real stand out for me; it is refreshing to see an imaginative take on the brief "waves." Use of the rule of thirds and radiation of the waves from the main subject, the ship's bow, really helps balance the picture and make it pleasing to the eye.

Most entries to this contest displayed the sheet power of the wind and sea so it is refreshing to see a different take on the brief "waves." The fine art style of this image shows the more delicate side of the ocean and the vibrant colour of the shell makes the image stand out as a whole. Well done on a beautiful shot.
