The weather

This is an incredibly striking black and white image, and the photographer has skilfully captured amazing detail in the clouds. We really like how the photographer has framed the shot, creating a sort of balance between the flowers and the sky. The conversion to black and white really brings out the texture in the sky.

The photographer has captured an incredibly dramatic act of nature here. The timing to capture such an incredible event must have used great skill as well as the ability to capture it in such wonderful detail. A really nice shot of the weather.

Although a lot of our favourite images of the weather from this contest have festered storms and angry clouds, we really love this beautifully colourful capture. The colours and textures in the sky still add a sense of drama, and the focal point of the church really drew us in.
