Environmental wedding shots are increasingly popular these days and this shot is a great example. The central composition means our attention is held on the subjects - the couple - while allowing the photographer to make the most of the dramatic setting. The colour palette is beautiful and understated, while processing is perfect for this kind of atmosphere. Well done!
This represents a classic wedding shot, but is very well captured. The photographer has managed to identify the perfect moment to trigger the shutter and capture the energy and excitement of the day. The choice of aperture is ideal, subtly blurring the foreground confetti and furthering the tunnel like effect. Processing is also inspired, offering great contrast and a lovely glow to the light. Well done!
Wedding photography often falls into two categories - reportage style and wedding fashion. This image manages to cross these genres, offering a stylized, posed image, but with a sense of being shot on the day, during a quiet, reflective moment. The lighting is superb, being contrasty and natural in appearance, while maintaining highlight detail and attractive diffusion. A technically complex shot made to look effortless - a great entry!
Wedding images can easily look formulaic, but this shot is anything but predictable! The light and setting is compelling, cinematic and dramatic. The choice of composition is also spot on, making the most of the environment while holding the focus of the shot on the main subjects - the Bride and Groom. Conveying this balance of importance in the frame is not easy in a stunning setting such as this, so the photographer must be congratulated for the sublime arrangement of the scene.

Capturing the newly married couple on their own is an essential part of a wedding day shoot. This image has a nice serenity about it, showing a quiet moment in an otherwise busy day! For portraits of the Bride and Groom it is important to convey closeness and intimacy. A strange phenomenon is that couples can appear too separated in the final shots, so what this shot needed was for the photographer to instruct the subjects to place their heads much closer together. It may seem awkward at the time but this would have translated to a more romantic image. Something to try next time!
