What a fantastic dramatic image, I spent ages looking at this image, even now as I'm writing this I spot another bird lurking in the shadows, it really is one of them images that makes you stop and look.
I love how where the majority of the birds are is in light where the cliffs are in shadow, which I know the photographer has said they have adjusted the lighting in post processing, it really does make the image pop. Its a well thought out image and I agree photographing on a boat in the North Sea is rather challenging so a huge well done.
What a beautiful moment between chick and parent. The photographer has captured this moment perfectly. The focus is spot on on both birds, showing that the photographer knows what they are doing and using the correct depth of field. This image really pops with the orange of the beaks creating an amazing leading line to this tender moment.
If I was shooting this subject I would have been tempted to zoom out slightly so all the adult penguin is in the photo, but this photo is truly stunning so should be extremely proud of this image. Well done on coming 3rd.
I love the way this image shows the impressive wingspan and the gannet coming in to land. The focus is spot on and knowing how to get a bird of this size in this focus from the wings to the eye tells me the photographer knows what they are doing. The dramatic sky behind the image made the gannet just pop. So a huge well done for creating such an amazing image

I love this image and was just outside my top 10. The simplicity of the colours with the grey then the green foliage in the corner really made me look at it.
The focus is perfect, although a lot of people don't like grey skies I feel this works perfect on this image with the gull and the steel structure being grey. Well done on a stunning image.
