This winning image is pure magic! The photographer has taken a unique approach to this subject and shows great technical expertise when it comes to lighting. The bokeh sparkles in the background teamed against the transparent wings are just brilliant!

This is a great shot and the colours in the scene are very inviting. There are a couple of technical flaws to watch out for such as the head of the butterfly is slightly soft. From looking at the shutter speed setting this could explain why so next time try increasing the ISO to compensate for this.

Well done to our third place photographer. This is a gorgeous capture of the Japanese Red Crowned Cranes doing their famous call. The image has lovely monotones with only the red crest giving it away that it is a colour image.

It’s not easy to capture a scene like this and the photographer who comes in second place has done an excellent job of capturing the optimum moment. Their positioning is spot on to capture that snarl. The surrounding whitespace creates an isolating frame around the action. Great work.

This image caught our eye and has been executed to a high level. The line of Wildebeests couldn't have be formed in a better formation for the photographer! The final processing in the monochrome tone enhances the end result. Great work.
