This shot made my top ten as it is such a natural image of a rare and elusive cat in its natural habitat. Composition and framing of the lynx in the centre of the frame works very well and the viewers eye is drawn to the animal. The falling snow and the forest backdrop sets this beauty off. One of my favourite shots well done to the photographer.
A worthy top ten selection this shot shouts winter wildlife and given it was shot in -33degrees well done to the photographer Composition use of light and capturing the atmosphere of the struggle of the bison in such harsh conditions did it for me, one of the best shots I have viewed of these magnificent beasts with the story needing no explaination
A cracking shot of a difficult subject in full flow earned this photograph a top ten result. The sharpness of both the ram and the ewe together and the composition really works for me particularly given these animals are easily spooked and capturing the movement requires skill in snow that deep. Well done love this shot
As a photographer who works regularly in the snow in Scotland I recognise the challenges of this shot and the quality end result, to shoot white on white is difficult and this shot for me is excellent as the contrast of the whites stand out, the ptarmigan is sharp and composition faultless almost made my top 10 well done
A raven in the snow depicts winter wildlife very well these birds are hardy winter survivors and this shot has great composition and uses the contrast of the black and white colours in the frame to deliver for me a stunning shot that in fierce competition has made my top ten well done to the photographer .
This image is my third choice and a worthy selection. As a subject I photograph frequently to capture this particular shot will have required real skill as the crested tit is constantly on the move and trying to achieve composition that makes the image pop is extremely difficult. The image is sharp and the pose of the bird in the falling snow is simply excellent well done to the photographer and thanks for entering this great shot of one of my favourite and most challenging subjects
This is an excellent shot from a highly talented photographer the black and white presentation really works well and the contrast of the water the white bear and the dark background makes this shot pop it is unfortunately not a contender in this competition as the subject is not a wild animal and the shot was executed in a zoo
Of the images of the Great Grey Owl entered in this competition this one was my favourite. and earned a worthy commendation The shot is magical with excellent composition. The soft falling snow and contrast of the brown against the white works well a contender for a top 10 place well done to the photographer
A brilliant shot of the grizzly in movement most shots of this great mammal are static and don't capture the speed these giants can move at. As this shot is cropped it makes the detail in the face and paws even more impressive as the photographer has captured it all. Use of light and colour balance is impressive well done to the photographer for making the top 10

An image from my local patch the Cairngorm National Park in Scotland depicts the beauty of these wonderful creatures the mountain hare in all their glory. Detail, colour and being portrait perfect pushed this image narrowly ahead of the other excellent mountain hare images in the competition. Congratulations to the photographer for making my top ten selection.
A clean and simple composition using the rules of thirds is always a winner and this shot of the red fox in the open landscape is a great image. I love the detail in the fox the pose and the use of spot colour popping that red coat in all its glory against the white background. Well done to the photographer and thanks for your entry.
