Photography is my passion and I try to produce an image on most days. I am free to capture any sort of image and I still can't decide which field I love best but I will always love nature and all animals. Lately I have experimented with HDR photography, architecture, environmental portraits, still life and ultra macro. I am always trying to learn and improve so Photocrowd and competitions have changed the way I now look at photography. I cut my teeth with slides (positives) photography and was once awarded "Practical Photography" magazines "Photographer of the year in 1990. When digital dawned my interest dwindled a little as the quality was missing but as it has caught up I am back with a passion. In 2019 I achieved an ambition to reach the number one ranking on Photocrowd and was thrilled to repeat the achievement in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023. I put this down to the variety of images I produce but still feel like I'm learning new techniques all the time. In November 2021 I was awarded the title The Buglife Bug Photographer of the Year 2021 which is a huge honour. I now tend to concentrate more on portfolio projects over a period of time rather than just being competitive though I still can't resist the odd one! 😊
