Why do we make pictures? Is it an effort to understand and make sense of our existence or merely a practice of freezing moments that will never happen again… An attempt perhaps to cheat time and escape its incessant erasures. And peruse at leisure the desires, textures, aesthetics and pleasures that form our world; our experience of it. Pictography (a portmanteau of ‘picture’ and ‘cartography’) is my attempt to map the world around me through events, objects, peoples and stories as they present themselves to me as part of my very own and unique everyday
