I bought my first camera in 2018 after retiring early and needing a new interest to keep my brain working. I am an absolute beginner and at first was overwhelmed by all the options on my panasonic lumix G7, but am slowly starting to feel more competent. My plan is to use the next 10 years to practice, practice, practice.
