born and raised in downtown montreal, this eclectic eighties child has been holding a camera since the age of five. in eighty-nine, she threw away her first camera because DUH! it was disposable, or so that’s what her mother had told her. she spent her early teens taking and developing pictures at summer camp with the help of an old asahi pentax dating back to nineteen seventy-nine, sold for the tokyo olympics. she still owns and uses that baby nowadays and the original vintage leather chevron strap is always around her neck holding up whichever one of her eight cameras she’s using. finally as an adult she opted to study commercial and professional photography after several years living and traveling abroad. setting roots in australia, vancouver and toronto. flight attendant by trade, cate’s boundaries are limitless. wether it be mortor cycling down to vietnam and across to cambodia, or driving down the california coast in a camper van, this self-proclaimed millennial hippie is a thrill seeker and an adventurer. she thrives on architecture, interior decor, art, fashion and travel. inspired by the bardots and the bourdains of the world, her photographs all have a retro “je ne sais quoi” appeal to them. on her spare time, she likes to move and relocate all the furniture around her apartment to her boyfriend and friend’s despair.
