All submitted images are reviewed by a leading panel of experts drawn from diverse corners of the world of photography.
FIX Photo Festival is produced and curated by L A Noble Gallery Director Laura Noble and is staged at Menier Street Gallery in Central London, just minutes from London Bridge. With events throughout and artworks and publications for sale, there is something for everyone to discover. This free exhibition of photography includes works by a vast array of domestic and international talent. Finalists and winners of the FIX Photo Awards will also be on display. To celebrate 'The Year Of The Woman' FIX will be hosting a symposium discussing the importance of women in photography and the difficulties and solutions faced by a male-dominated field. The 4 awards categories are open to all ages and nationalities.
Any entrant under 18 on Sunday 21st October 2018, must gain the permission of a parent or guardian to enter the competition. Entrants under the age of 13 on Sunday 21st October 2018 are not permitted to enter.

The opening date of the competition is Tuesday 28th August 2018.
The closing date for entries is midnight (UTC +1) on Sunday 21st October 2018.
The shortlist and crowd-vote winners will be announced on the Tuesday 6th November 2018.
The overall winners of the awards will be announced on Tuesday 27th November 2018 (at the Fix Photo Festival 2018 private view); Wednesday 28th November (on Photocrowd.com).
You can enter up to 4 images in each of the 4 categories.
The cost is based on the number of images you want to enter. Entries are bought in advance and can then be used at any time before 23:59:59 UTC+1 on the Sunday 21st October. The following entry bundles are available, and entries can be used across any of the 4 main categories:
One image - £10
Four images - £35
Eight images - £60
Sixteen images - £80
A discount on the price of entry bundles of 5%, 10% or 20% is available for Photocrowd Challenger, Pro or Master subscribers, respectively.
Multiple bundles can be purchased (eg 3 x 1 image bundles = 3 total entries) but the maximum number of entries that can be made across all 4 categories is 16 (4 images per category).
Yes, the same image can be entered into multiple categories, if you consider that it fits the brief for each category you enter it into.
Each entry to a category counts as one entry, for the purposes of payment.
Each photographer can enter the awards once, using one Photocrowd account. More than one image bundle can be purchased, but there is a maximum of 16 images that can be entered by each photographer – 4 into each of the 4 categories.
If the awards are still open for entries then at any time you can remove an entered image and enter a different one in its place. Once the deadline for entries has passed, and judging is underway, images cannot be removed or swapped out for other images.
Yes, there’s a simple signup process to register on Photocrowd, which will then give you full access to the FIX Photo Festival Awards 2018.

No, the FIX Photo Festival Awards 2018 is an international competition and you may enter photographs taken anywhere in the world.
No – images that have previously won another photo awards are not eligible for entry. This excludes free-to-enter Photocrowd contests.
The recommended minimum image size is 4800 x 3204, 20meg at 200 dpi. This is so the top images can be printed at AO size during the FIX Photo Festival 2018. If you have a version of your submission at this size, please use it.

Images should be saved as jpegs at the highest quality available, with a colour profile attached. Either the RGB or sRGB colour profiles are recommended. Digital scans from film are also eligible providing they meet these technical guidelines.
Whilst no image sizes will be rejected at upload, winning images will be required to be printed, and so must be of sufficient quality to allow this. It is therefore advised that the minimum image size is 4800 x 3204, 20meg at 200 dpi. This is so the top images can be printed at AO size during the FIX Photo Festival 2018. If you have a version of your submission at this size, please use it.
Where images submitted are smaller than this, it will be assumed that this is the largest image size available to the photographer, and may affect that image’s chances of being exhibited. The submission of larger file sizes is encouraged if available.
There are Photoshop and other image software tutorials online that show you how to best resize an image.
There are no restrictions regarding the manipulation of images using software or other techniques in the FIX Photo Festival Awards 2018, provided that all imagery is the exclusive work of the submitting photographer and does not include any element that is the copyright of another.
Excessive sharpening, noise reduction and color saturation techniques should be avoided. We appreciate that entrants will attempt to prepare their entries to optimise appearance and appeal on screen, and this may include these techniques. Excessive use of any or all of them can result in an entry that will be unsuitable for printed media and therefore could become invalid as a result.
We encourage photographers to include a description about their work during the upload process. This is a great way to tell a story or other interesting facts about your image. The judges and the crowd will be able to read this while rating to give them insight into how you came about the shot.
We would advise all entrants to add copyright information in the metadata of all submissions.
