I live in South Shields in the North East of England. For many years I have photographed the beautiful coastline of my home town. These photos can be viewed on my facebook page: The Geordie Algarve. My photography is generally concerned with environmental, social and cultural issues. In the past I use to do editorial photography mainly for travel magazines. I also run residencies and workshops for young people and community groups using participatory photography / research techniques. Photographic influences include: Mary Ellen Mark, Werner Bischof, Gordon Parks and JeanLoup Sieff. I shoot digitally and still use film primarily with medium and large format cameras. Equipment used tends to be Pentax and Olympus.
