Sue "Bear" Carruthers

I have always been a fan of wildlife photography and this is where most of my time is spent. Wildlife photography has helped my struggle with long term mental health problems(Depression/PTSD) in a massive way, it seems to be the one and only way i am able to switch off and go into a tranquil world away from people and the chaos of everyday life, to sum it up, i'm in heaven! I like using low key to bring out the details/features of the animals i photograph. I'm also trying to extend my knowledge of other areas of photography which isn't in my comfort zone and hope to improve...i hope! My favorite photographers are Andy Rouse, Don McCullin and Christina Broom. I'm not a fan of excessive use of Photoshop to create images that are not natural, i really dislike composites. For me, trying to get that perfect shot takes a lot of trial and error plus patience. If you do like my images, please rate them in the competition if you have the time. Happy snapping xx
