I never considered myself a photographer. I liked taking pictures. I was miserable when I didn't have a camera close by. But I have good friends who are amazing photographers. They create magic somehow, and my shots still felt more like a child coloring with crayons. So for years I took my pictures and seldom shared them with anyone. Because my pictures were only for me to play with, I never worried about getting a good camera. I started with point and clicks and finally, a few years ago, switched up to a Canon Rebel. Then last year, an artist friend who'd seen some of my shots, convinced me to start sharing them. Together we entered a gallery show...AND I got in! And then a local art store asked if I'd hang some pictures in their shop. So I'm finally starting to consider that I might be a photographer. Which seems weird because I feel like there still so much to learn, but I'll shoot pictures while I'm learning, and maybe others will be able to enjoy the journey with me.
