Terrie and her husband own and operate a small farm on the eastern shore of Maryland. When she isn’t writing or taking photographs, Terrie can often be found in the company of her many critters, including an American bison, Morgan horses, miniature zebus, Nigerian goats, miniature pigs, an alpaca, and an assortment of pheasants, peacocks, ducks, and chickens. In 1992, after studying Equine Science at Cecil County Community College, Terrie began working at a local Thoroughbred farm as an Equine Mid-wife, assisting with the delivery and the postnatal care of mares and foals. She continued her education in 2001 at Chesapeake Community College, and earned her Veterinary Assistant certificate. Since 2015, Terrie has been a volunteer for Tri-State Bird Rescue, and is currently training to be a BCA (Bird Care Assistant).
