I’m a South African photographer living on a farm, and most of my work reflects the things I naturally encounter in everyday life. I rarely travel or go out with the intention of taking photos. Most of the time, you’ll find me casually walking around before suddenly sprinting toward something that caught my eye while struggling to rip my phone out of my pocket, usually falling 50 meters behind whoever I’m with. Most of these impulsive shots end up deleted because of how abruptly they’re taken, but the few that come out right feel special to me in a way I can’t fully explain. To someone else, an image might just look like another flower, another storm, or another old machine. To me, it’s a window back to a specific moment in my life. A reminder of where I was, what I noticed, and who I was becoming when I stopped to capture it. What you see in my gallery is not a curated version of life. It’s simply the life I happened to notice.
