
Vijay S. Jodha is a writer, filmmaker and a self-taught photographer based in India. He has produced five books and his projects have been showcased in galleries, museums and festivals worldwide. They have received over 100 honours in 24 countries including 20 best film/director awards; grants from institutions like Sundance, Eurovision, Swiss Development Agency, Ford Foundation, and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. His films have been broadcast on 75 channels worldwide including on BBC, CNN and Discovery. He has directed three photography-related films that have received dozens of honours and been screened at over 250 festivals in over 60 countries. His collaborative photo project about television was shown in galleries and museums worldwide, and described by The New York Times as “a beautiful series.” In 2018 he was given the honour of presenting a film and addressing delegates from 193 countries at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. His photo project about farmer suicides in India received British Journal of Photography's Decade of Change Best Series Prize and was on global tour in 2021.
