A Magnifying Device and the Magnified Subject

Grotesque beauty, someone beautiful has been changed with the simple use of a magnifying glass. Nice sharp detail on the lips and face which gives us texture. The out of focus background worked well on this image along with the use of mono. Well done.

To be fair the top 4 images changed places a few times, as they all hold their own special appeal. The reason I placed this first is because the image highlights the textures of the apple really well. We all see apples everyday but we never really look closely, and I think this one is probably past its best, which adds to the interest of the image. Well done.

Very nice image set in mono, nice and sharp and clear. A lot of the magnifying glass images held to the eye in this competition had a more jovial theme, so it was nice to see one that was more serious. Personally I feel it gives much more complexity to the image as it leaves the viewer contemplating what feelings the model is trying to conveying. Well done.

This image is simple in its construction but very well executed. Because of its great execution is oozes professionalism and I strongly suspect this is used on a stock image site somewhere and if not it should. Very well done.

For me this image stood out for its bold vivid colour and unusual view. The image isn't perfect as the back ground has some chromatic aberration which takes the edge off of the quality and stopped this placing first. But its a super subject and was really unique to this competition. Loved it, well done.
