This is not the sort of image I had in mind when I started this contest, but it is certainly something I have had in mind since you entered it. Wonderful work, the timing and composition are impeccable, and the colour and tones tremendously atmospheric. The contrasts between movement and stillness, and darkness and light, all accentuated by the flashing window reflection. Tremendous work. Thank you for entering. Now all I have to do is get the Gerry Rafferty song out of my head.
An abject lesson in how to use shadows, symmetry and the touch of chaos created by the rebellious chair out of formation. I assume the circular shadow is an overhead lamp, but whatever it is, the circular shape adds a wonderful contrast to the straight lines of the shadows and lineal chairs. The touch of red is the ideal cherry on this particular cake. Well done indeed, and thank you for entering.
What at first glance appears a simple image is in reality a superbly created and balanced image. The focus is perfect, highlighting the droplets, but the crowning point is the subdued use of red, which creates the necessary colour contrast without detracting from the awe inspiring detail of the water. Well done indeed, and thank you for entering.
At times a touch of colour brings a focal point to an image, at others, like this one, it allows the rest of the image to fully expose it's beauty and quality. The red here in no way dominates, quite the opposite, the depth of colour highlights the black and white starkness. A truly fascinating image, masterfully created. Thank you very much for entering.

I am looking for your photos where a touch of red brightens the scene. Red should not dominate the photo, instead just a colourful element of red, be it a scooter, car, post box, item of clothing or food etc. I look forward to seeing your photos.

Possibly one of the simplest uses of the colour red submitted, but also one of the most effective. The colour gives the image a life it would otherwise not have, and draws the eye to the difference between it and all but one of it's neighbouring containers, which also carries a number plate., which I assume is because they have been positioned rear end first. Fascinating image, very well spotted. Thank you for entering
