Abandoned and neglected buildings can have incredibly character and interest to them, and the urbex (urban exploration) movement has emerged in the past few years and made the discovery and exploration of abandoned and hidden manmade structures even more popular. There can be issues of trespass and safety that must be addressed, as abandoned buildings are often not open to the public, and can be in states of disrepair. Where one can be accessed safely and legally, there is an excitement in shooting a building or space that many might not be aware of.
