I love the relative simplicity of this shot, with the tatty office chair set against the plain wall and empty notice board. The chair acts as an initial focal point, before the eye can wander to explord the rest of the scene. Colour contrasts work well, with the harmonious hues of the wall and chair contrasting with the clutter on the floor. Congratulations on your winning image.
I am not usually a fan of HDR images, but this one somehow works for me. The effect produced adds more of a grungy feel to the scene, in keeping with the subject. The over-saturated colouring draws attention to the green of the moldy vegetation taking over the interior, conveying the feeling of damp no doubt being suffered here in this abandoned property. Congratulations on your second place finish.
An interesting find, well captured with plenty of details for the eye to explore. In scenes such as this there is clearly a story to be told, and it is up to the viewer to decide the narrative from the view presented. Composition works well, being close enough in to see details, but wide enough to give context and a sense of the entire residence. Congratulations on your third place finish.
What a great shot. I love the composition, with the upright of the wall/support dividing the frame in two. Splitting an image in this way does not always work, but here it does. This allows the viewer to look down to the right to the window, and then look down to the left to wonder what lies beyond in the rest of the building. Lighting has been well handled, retaining contrast but still allowing details in the shadows. Great work, well done on your top ten placing.

This contest is for you photos of interiors of buildings that show signs of abandonment. The indoor spaces can range from small rooms in abandoned homes to large factories, schools, etc. that are now disused. Please only show interiors, not the outside of buildings. Photos can be in colour or black and white. I look forward to seeing your entries.
