After dark

The symmetry in this image really works and makes it stand out for me from all the other images we see from this part of the world. The reflections, colours and tight composition really makes for a very powerful image.

This image really stood out. I love the composition, the colour palette and tones but more importantly the control and understanding of light. You see lots of night shots where they are just not controlled technically, however this is a fine example of how it should be done. A great shot well done.

I love the overall feel of this image – the textures of the rocks, the sea and the sky. And I like that the photographer has put the light house right in the middle of the frame. Leaving the fisherman in the distance is a nice touch.

The spookiness in this image is great. It feels like a book cover or a film poster. I love the warmth of the foreground against the cold sky, and a nice touch with the birds – I think they've been added in a subtle way and without going over the top.

This image really made me smile. You see this technique used a lot in night photography but I felt this had a real element of creative fun and I can imagine the enjoyment the photographer had making the image and I think it shows. It feels like it could be a still from a sci fi movie

The tones and textures really stood out for me in this image. I almost want to fall into the scene and go exploring. The textures of the mountains are fantastic and great use of the clouds to add drama to the scene.
