I love the simple shapes and limited colour palette in this abstract photo of rolling hills, looking to have been captured after the harvesting of the crops. Importantly for the success of the image, the fields fill the frame, with no sky or other subjects visible, which adds to the abstract of the shot. Congratulations on your winning image.
A beautiful capture of a picturesque rural scene, as the fields are tended at the end of the growing season. I love the capture of the soft sunlight back-lighting the scene and the little circle of dust surrounding the tractor. The lines of trees allow the eye to zigzag through the frame from the tractor in the foreground to the barn in the background, following the dips between the softly undulating fields. Congratulations on your second place finish.

A great image, beautifully capturing the golden light of the low sun, with the presence of the frost on the fileds possibly indicating the early morning light. Composition is great, with the larger trees running on a diagonal through the frame, and the other field boundaries running parallel across the frame. I like the contrasting colours between the rich browns on the right and the greens of the fields on the left, some still touched with frost. The golden glow of sunlight however brings promise of a touch of warmth in the day to come. Great work, well done on your top ten placing.

This image may not be to everyone's taste, but I think it is great. I love the mundanity of the heavy brown earth, a scene typical of many in the late autumn and winter months when the cold earth lies bare. The layer of mist in the background adds to the damp chill of the scene. I am not usually a great fan of digital borders being added to photos as they can distract from the actual scene, but here, with the square crop, I think if works as it adds a rather artistic feel to the image. Congratulations on your third place finish.

This contest is for your photos showing landscapes dominated by agriculture. This can be landscapes relating to crop production or rearing of animals. Examples include a patchwork of farmed fields, leading lines formed by ploughing or harvesting, or an expanse of pasture being grazed by sheep or cows. The overall feel of the shot should be a landscape, but it must be obvious the landscape is predominantly agricultural. Buildings and people can be included but should not be the prime focus. Entries can be in colour or black and white. I look forward to seeing your photos.
