All About Christmas

Christmas is not always the happiest time of year for people. The photographer and subjects have shown great bravery in making this photograph. Even in difficult times this picture shows that you are not alone and thats a lovely thing to show and convey. The composition is wonderful with the people placed really well around the frame. The colors work well which is not easy with the mixed light within the space. A compassionate photograph. Well done to the photographer.

This image which is a a little different really stood out. It's funny and other than the red triangle of Santa's hat we would not be able to really tell that this is a festive photograph. We just get enough information. The photographer shows great skill in controlling the artificial light and balancing that so well against the background and the clothes on the line which given they are white is not an easy thing to get right. The control and exposure is perfect. A really great take on the brief. Well done.

An incredible photograph that shows a lovely quiet moment between two small children maybe brother and sister? The framing with the tight crop works so well as does the glow of light on the faces and this is backed up with the warm lights of the tree. It's a classic image of Christmas and one that I could see easily on cards around the world. I love how engrossed the children are into the book and it does not matter if this is a candid moment or constructed. Either way it tells us about a special moment at a special time in the year where family and friends come first. Lovely.
