This work really hit the brief and there is no doubt that all three subjects are more engrossed in a digital world than in a conversation, which predominately used to happen around a dinner table. I did feel it laced a little bit of detail to really bring the image to live but certainly worthy of a commendation at the very least.

The social commentary here is breath-taking, like Banksy’s image of people with mobiles, such is the power of this technology to captivate us away from everyday human interaction that artists feel the need to document it. All in all really clever way to meet the contests brief .

I found this to be a very powerful work that can be interpreted in numerous ways. I found it to mean that the subject was tired of communicating in this medium. However, it could also be that what we do not see on the screen has led the subject to consider taking their own life and as such both the subject and whatever is on the screen are anti-social behaviours. In truth there are so many interpretations that you can keeping reliving this image over and over. It is for that reason that it takes a very worthy 2nd place.

With the dawn of internet and growth of mobile technology as the go to device, more and more people use their mobile for everything. In this contest we are looking to showcase how mobiles have led to anti-social behaviour. Like the banner image it could just be people using mobiles oblivious to each other , it could be people around a dinner table and one is using a mobile while the others are in conversation or two people sat on a sofa with at least one using a mobile. Images must contain at least one mobile phone. How you interpret mobiles and anti-social behaviour is up to you.

I really enjoyed this image and it the mark with regard to the brief. A very strong composition in a documentary style is only hindered by the fact that the work is very low resolution. This lack of detail in the image is the only reason it missed out on a top ten finish but still a great work and worthy of a commendation.
