This is a great interpretation of Van Gogh's Café Terrace at Night. I like your rich blues in the patchwork sky. You have taken some great artistic liberties while remaining true to Van Gogh's original oil painting and color palette. I especially like the details on the tables in the foreground which invite the viewer to linger.
I have always loved this painting and would love to travel to Arles, France, the actual site where Van Gogh was inspired. to create this masterpiece. I understand that visitors to the site can stand at the northeastern corner of the Place du Forum, where the artist set up his easel!

I love this photographic interpretation of Vincent Van Gogh's Chair and Pipe. It is one of the most analyzed paintings of Vincent Van Gogh because of the symbolic interpretations underlying the subject matter. You have done a wonderful job recreating this iconic image.
This painting is often displayed together with Paul Gauguin's chair. You should consider making your own interpretation of Gauguin's chair so you can display the two as a pair.
Meet the judge
I loved judging this contest. There was a great variety of artists and paintings that inspired the many entries. The photographic techniques were equally .creative sand varied making it difficult to whittle down the list of possible winners.. That said, this bright and colorful bitmap inspired by Swati Kale moved right to the top of my short list. I love the mottled pink petals and soft green leaves. The yellowed petal sitting in the water brings out the yellow stamens and the the touch of yellow in the leaves. I love the reflection on the surface of the water. The total effect is a beautiful photograph that could be framed or printed on canvas and displayed proudly in any home or office. Congratulations on earning first place.

I want to see your photographic interpretation of famous paintings. You may photograph the actual settings of a famous painting like Monet's Gardens at Giverney, or enter your own take on the painting like the banner photo shown here, which is in the style of Monet. Please do not submit photos of actual paintings, but show your own photographic version of the art work. Your photo title should be the same as title of the painting you are portraying, and please include the original artist's name if known.
