This is such a happy and spontaneous image of some very happy girls playing together. Although accidental no doubt I like the fact that the pink of the girls' blouses contrasts with the green grass. The expressions on their faces show their happiness at being together. Perhaps it's just a shame we can't see the fifth girl's face but as taken probably on the spur of the moment that may have spoiled a happy image if time had been taken to position the girls better.
This is a simple happy family shot but what makes it special to me is the way the family are framed in the window and the texture of the wall surrounding them. I like the boy looking at his mother as if for reassurance. One thing on a personal level I would have thought might have improved the picture even more is to edit out the green area above the woman's head and possibly even the lighter area to the right of dad.

A very simple but very effective photograph with lots of narrative which I love in a picture. I like the casual way the mother is standing looking at her son and the humour created as he pops his head out from the jutting wall. The fact that the wall is plain in colour but has texture has helped create an impressive street image.
I love the simplicity in theis image and especially the happy look on the gentleman and young girl's faces. The black and white edit gives it that older feel as this was taken at a 1940s weekend. I like the fact that the girl is looking ahead and the possibly grandfather is looking down at her. The only thing I personally feel would have made it even better is the omission of the hand holding on to the girl.
I feel a lot of thought has gone into this image either from the photographer or the participants including the use of the umbrellas, the colours of the clothing and the fact that everyone is wearing scarves. I like the fact that although it is a family portrait there still seems to be a sense of spontaneity and joy in the image. The picture is well lit considering that it is obviously late afternoon on a winter's day. One thing I would personally have done is get the lady fourth from the left to bring her hand in a little during her wave away from the gentleman's face beside her but that's just me. The dogs are a great addition to the image.

I guess this proves you don't have to have a fancy camera to get a really good image as this was taken with an iphone. The background being slightly blurry and not 'busy' helps us focus on the very happy faces of the two children. I like the fact the boy is happily looking at the 'camera' while his big sister is so happily focussed on him

For this contest I would like to see your photos of two or more people in any situation showing happiness to be with one another. There should be at least two people in the picture who look happy and are together. It would be great to see some spontaneous shots of people not looking at the camera. The photos can be in colour or black and white.
