Autumn

I love this image but it didn't say autumn to me. It's like a children's cartoon come to life. Great timing and composition plus fantastic technical processing and use of depth of field create a highly irresistible image. Great work!

My favourite of the competition. A technically difficult to stitch and edit image that is highly compelling to view. A well balanced shot with great transition from dark to light and colours that blend well.. I love the drama created by the light beams and the depth created by the roots. Congratulations!

This is my favourite of a lot of strong deer photos. The timing, light and fog all come together to create a strong image. I particularly like the strong directional light on the coat and the antlers and the colour match of the light and the foliage.

There were a lot of intimate autumn photos in this competition but this is my favourite. I'm drawn to the sense of looking out from the tree with the curving branch closer to the lens than the leaf. The colours are fantastic and the sense of stronger light on only the leaf makes the image.

This shot was close to making my top 10. I really liked the composition and the colours. The vibrance of the fall colours gets more intense the further away the leaves are from the lens which draws my eye into the shot and gives it depth.

I expected to see more photos of people enjoying the autumn weather in this competition. This image stood out for me. The layers of dark and light, the simplicity and vibrance of the colour scheme and the depth created by the strong light and composition made me revisit it a number of times as I was voting.
