Great contest!

I like this image and it deserves comment, it placed in the top 10 due to initial view but sadly the 'grain' or loss of pixel definition is really bad - the ISO is too high or the image has been edited too much such as reduction of shadows.

Nice, a stand out image for this contest, perfect use of the 'two-tone' with a lovely gradient of those tones - top and bottom. Outstanding composition and gorgeous depth of field all the way through. I am very jealous........ Very simple but so much interest and the eye wanders all over........ It fits the brief but gives it some class.....

Very nice image nicely completes the brief adding the human element better than most.... The composition is lovely, the lines brilliant. The shadows make this stand out brilliantly, the two perfect colours for an image, red/yellow any other would have made it slightly less...... The dog adds humour the girls face is full of interest, the image sums up the city but has the fragility I was looking for on multiple levels - girl, dog, balloons...... The only flaw is maybe the 2nd person but that could not have been helped as this is a natural image...... Also, I am a real lover of negative space or images that lean to one side - well done........

Possibly the only image to give symmetry and this really stood out in a wall of images while going through. Beautiful tones, light and shade. I assume the balloons are added as the size is slightly off but this is what I allowed in brief and certainly one of the better images to not just copy and paste with no thought........

This image 'stood out' in more ways than one, lovely use of a wide lens giving a fish-eye feel which is ideal when in the city or looking up. The image is full of interest and gives us 'city' that I really wanted. Difficult lighting I'm sure, reduction of shadows and increased vibrancy may work on this. The eye wanders all over the image with a few main focus points - balloons, sky & bum.............

Simple and minimal this is contest brief perfection it gives me urban and a balloon. The red is glorious with its tones and smoothness, stands out massively with the monotone of the building. Nice use of lines and rule of thirds, lovely depth of field......

Nice image, interesting composition and the red made it stand out amongst the rest, maybe straighten the image for nice symmetry. The doors give a harsh urban feel but seem old and aged and there is an ominous feel to the crack and the 666....... but the reflection in the balloon shows light and sunshine......

Not strictly showing 'city' but it is a lovely image, perhaps straighten the lines if possible and slight cropping on the left to give a soothing symmetrical image....., but the light and shade are glorious. Shame the 'lying person' wasn't in the light. It gives me a balloon and it looks urban so well done........ Is this Tate Modern in London.

This contest may seem a bit specific but this is a chance to be creative. We want to see 'balloons' in the urban environment, in the sky, street or city. Incorporate architecture, buildings, people etc especially the fragile nature of the subject in such a harsh situation. The idea is to be creative, situations can be natural or staged, even creations in Photoshop...
