This photo stood out to me as being quite unusual and juxtaposed, I love the contrast of the green grass with the stormy blue sky, and the longer shutter speed has helped to capture some of the movement in the grass adding to the overall sense of mood and foreboding - not something you'd expect at a scenic seaside location.

I really love the concept & originality of this image, the use of a tilt-shift lens to make the photo look miniature works really well in this setting, and introduces the idea of playfulness. I would have liked to have seen the line of the beach be perfectly horizontal in the frame but the creativity of the image has won me over.

If ever there were an example of a fantastically composed and timed image, this would be it. I really like the symmetry around the centre of the frame, and had to do a double take to figure out how the man was so small! Great work.

This is a delightfully captivating image, having been drawn in initially by the golden hues in the sky I started to examine the photo more closely and discovered many details that made this the winning image for me. I love that the beach huts are all boarded up, it brings up the question of why and seems somewhat juxtaposed to the overall peacefulness of the scene.

The lines in the sand leading your eye toward the huts work really well, too and I quite like the CCTV looking back at you, it helps to enhance the juxtaposition of the boarded up huts and makes you think that perhaps this isn't such a friendly scene after all.

Overall, a very well composed scene showing great technical ability handling the brights in the sky whilst maintaining colour.

This photo fits the brief of this competition perfectly for me, it's a great use of light and very creative. I think the angle at which you've taken the shot is perfect - the huts are made to look like pencils at first glance.

The humble beach hut can often be overlooked when shooting coastal scenes, but shot at the right time with the right conditions, it can be transformed into a thing of wonder. In this contest I will be looking for brilliant use of lighting in the scene but more than anything, merit will be granted for creativity.
