What a wonderful image! It's such a beautiful bird and quite uncanny how it's brown plumage actually matches the rusted wire on the fence, a real Beauty and the Beast scenario. Everything is beautifully sharp and the background is completely uncluttered and compliments all the foreground clarity. A stunning image which is a feast for the eyes. I really like this and appreciate it being smack on brief. I think if I'd have taken this I would have added a very slight vignette to keep your eye from wondering off the flower focal point and checking out the surrounding distractions. Still a very nice image and thank you for entering this contest.
My winning image! It's very clear that time and consideration has been taken to produce this beautiful image. I love the stunning contrast of colours which work so well together. I asked for still life as well as outside examples of my brief and I can really appreciate how well it's been done. Although it doesn't seem quite right, I think that flowers and rusty old things go well together. So for this contest I'd like to see flowers or pretty weeds or anything in nature, next to or situated near rusty old things. Good examples can be found around old disused railway lines or around derelict buildings. If you are feeling creative why not make a still life with flowers and rusty old objects? This caught my eye immediately because of the stark contrast of, "Beauty and the Beast" which again is exactly what I was looking for in this contest. Bang on brief, ( because there have been an awful lot of entries which are nothing to do with the brief set). So thank you for reading the brief and entering this beautiful example.
