Biscuits and Cookies

Thank you for entering the Biscuits and Cookies contest. This image created a good first impression and I knew it would be in the top ten. Simply three biscuits presented on white linen, with no other irrelevant objects distracting from the main subject. The shape and texture of the biscuits is clearly visible and they are placed well in the frame.

Thank you for entering the Biscuits and Cookies contest. Macaroons seemed to be a popular choice of biscuit, but this image was one of my favourites, probably due to its dark and steamy presentation. I like the way the lighting has enhanced the black mug, always a tricky colour to photograph well, and the addition of steam finishes it off nicely, as does the macaroon balancing on the edge.

Thank you for entering the Biscuits and Cookies contest. In my opinion, the biscuits aren’t the main point of interest in this shot, but the image still works well. The tones are strong and rich, but not overly saturated. The writing on the mug adds interest as does the crumbled chocolate in the foreground. A visually pleasing image indeed.

Thank you for entering the Biscuits and Cookies contest. I’m always a fan of these little figures when included in an image. This shot has an element of humour as well as creativity and obviously took some time to compose. I like the way the chocolate is beginning to melt - a story in the making!

Thank you for entering the Biscuits and Cookies contest. The majority of the entries included two biscuits or more and that’s why this one caught my eye. Who doesn’t love a chocolate biscuit? I like the detail - I could almost pick it up and start to nibble it, and filling the frame is always a winner in my opinion. The contest was to highlight biscuits and you have achieved this with just one example!
