Yet another shot that I had to do a double take over. The prop appears to be moving and yet, on closer inspection, you have that brilliant reflection of the the aircraft itself captured in - as you say - the spinner of the left engine. Notwithstanding the fact you saw the opportunity and took the shot, I do like the slight overall cold tone, along with the softness of the shot with that burst of yellow running through the middle. Well done, and many thanks for your entry.

What a fantastic image. It grabbed my attention straight away and is not the type of shot you will see every day. You have what some may call a 'standard' shot from a plane window of the earth beneath, with that all-important part of the plane showing as far as this competition is concerned, but it's that colour pop of orange that - for me - elevates this image to the next level. Unusual...different..and spot on compositionally...I love it. Well done, and many thanks for your entry.

Wow! An absolutely wonderful shot of what some would perhaps call the most underrated British fighter of WW2 - the Hawker Hurricane. I love the moodiness you have achieved here with just the right amount of detail captured within the darker areas. I think your composition is excellent, with the positioning of the propeller hub and the one complete blade across the centre of the shot working particularly well. Beautiful and lovely to see such a shot of a Hurricane. Many thanks for your entry.

I want to see your photos of any type of man-made flying machine but your picture must not show the whole machine, only part of it. You may focus on any area you choose from a propeller, part of a wing, the fuselage or the tail. No birds or any other animal that has the ability to fly, only man-made flying machines. Photos may be in either colour or black and white and, strictly, no composite images. I very much look forward to seeing what you come up with.

I did a double take when I first saw this. As you might expect there were a few shots entered into this competition taken from a plane window out across the wing, but this was the stand-out shot for me amongst this specific genre. I can't quite believe the quality of the shot, given it was taken on a camera phone (notwithstanding the post-processing) but I guess that goes to show how far camera phones have come over recent years. The contrast is excellent and I love the warm golden glow of the whole scene...with the added softness a nice bonus. Well done indeed!

I am a complete sucker for anything relating to perhaps the most beautiful man-made object ever made - the Supermarine Spitfire. I love how you have captured those exhaust flames and the title of your shot..well...it says it all. I may be biased perhaps, but I don't really care. Shots such as this tell so much more than is immediately apparent. I love it!! Many thanks for your entry.

What a wonderful shot of what will become - if it hasn't already - an iconic RAF aeroplane. Brilliantly observed with excellent detail captured throughout and particularly within the darker areas of the shot. I also love the contrast and sharpness you have achieved here. I've not flown in one myself, but have seen them close up at a few thousand feet above sea level - an awesome sight indeed I can assure you. I love it, and many thanks for your entry.

I love the simplicity of this shot which fits the brief for this competition perfectly. I think the composition is spot on and that all-important blue flash of colour towards the bottom third of the shot sets the whole image off rather well. If I have one slight criticism...it's the inclusion of your watermark/copyright detail...but nevertheless, a wonderful shot and many thanks for your entry.

I love these kind of shots - something that most of us would perhaps consider 'standard' but with that added twist - in this case, the water droplets on the window the shot was taken through. I particularly like the post-processing you have used here, without which it would not have been elevated to the level I think it has been. Well done indeed and many thanks for your entry.
