The first thing that struck me about this image was the level of tonality, from the black in the centre and working to the petal tips through various shades of grey. The detail of the lines in each petal guides the eye from the stamen across each petal to the beautifully blurred background. A fantastic capture.

I am looking for your best shots of flowers or plants but in black and white. Your subject can be a simple houseplant, single wildflower head, a macro shot or a field of flowers in full bloom. What I am wanting is to see clever and inspiring lighting to make the image "pop" without the colour that would usually do this. No sepia or coloursplash images please. Happy shooting.
