Black and White with Dominant Dark Tones

This image gives me the feeling I need to be still. To be quite and to wait and see almost what's about to happen next. The darkness here isn't giving me any room for guessing making me want to know more and leaves me in a state of fight or flight.. is the bird about the open its massive and powerful wings any second? Is another bird about to come through that darker top left 1/6th of the image? Is it going to turn and notice me viewing? It has a grand feel to it like its about to come to life and i simply love this mystery and is most entertaining as i look around the image my eyes snap back to the eyeball of the bird in wonder almost like to make sure its safe to traverse the image. A most pleasant and almost thrilling journey within the viewing of this image, thank you. In closing the details here go very much and in hand with creating the a well balanced and well crafted image.

Sublime. Selecting this image wasn't easy. I would have liked a touch and ever so light touch of more darkness in some edges to make this a more easy to judge image. The subtle sweep from light to dark and the well crafted composition mixed with tiny well formed details draws me deeper into this image creating a most still and yet alert feeling . The cold chill of the mountains mixes well with the fog the indicate day has just started or maybe the night will soon bring her mystery. I find my eyes wandering around the image like flowing water and the journey is peaceful and fluid creating the relaxed yet alert vibration. A wonderful well rounded image that is well crafted and well worth 1st place in my eyes. I am better for viewing it. Thank you.

The detail in the image is impeccable. Crisp, clear and a playful yet skillful use of light. The perfect amount of light leads me down the well defined stone road to the turn where I am met with the enjoyable mystery of what may lay around the corner and the right amount of light on those distant buildings to ensure I know more may lay ahead. The small details here have me surveilling the image and enjoying the process. The feel of the image changes as my eyes wonder back and forth forwards and back and creates even more mystery and the search for the deeper meaning is is captivating my attention here. We crafted image and well done.

The transition from light to dark with a heavy focus on the dark really work well in this image. The light dancing on the fine hairs and catching the wee folds in skin make for a most enjoyable journey around the face. The face seems to have much thought going through the mind of the subject making me wonder what's on the mind of the subject at this time leaving an intriguing feeling that lingers and makes viewing even more enjoyable the longer it holds my attention. The final merit to this image is the composition leaving me pleasantly guessing the body position of the subject in a hope to further the understanding of what's going through the subjects mind but still leaves me guessing I love that!
